Peter Vessenes has deep roots in digital currency, tokenization, and blockchain technology. He founded the first U.S. venture-backed Bitcoin corporation and the international Bitcoin Foundation (an oversight organization for the Bitcoin community). Mr. Vessenes also holds the fundamental patent for de-anonymizing Bitcoin transactions.
In recent years, Mr. Vessenes has provided digital currency consulting services for private and public software, security and law-related entities, including the U.S. Treasury Department, FinCEN, Department of Homeland Security, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. His newest enterprise, New Alchemy, provides technology, token game theory, and ICO advisory to the world’s most innovative companies. New Alchemy has been involved in over $2B of tokenization since its launch 14 months ago.
Mr. Vessenes founded New Alchemy Capital to be the asset management arm of New Alchemy that provides investors with innovative investment strategies to access the private and public digital asset markets.
Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer
Dinghan Luo previously was the head of research department in New Alchemy. He has a deep understanding of token economics and helped more than 30 projects on tokenization strategies and implementations based on blockchain technology and token game theory. Before joining New Alchemy, Mr. Luo worked for many years in the banking industry and assumed various roles and responsibilities in technology, strategy, finance, and M&A.
Mr. Luo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Washington Foster School of Business.
Director of Operations
Mark Xing has 19 years of experience in the investment and finance industry. Mr. Xing also has extensive expertise in blockchain technology. He founded the Bit University Foundation, a global decentralized blockchain research organization. Mr. Xing served as the deputy director of the Digital Media Lab at Peking University.
Mr. Xing is a veteran entrepreneur and venture capital investor, focusing on fintech, healthcare, telecommunication, and IoTs for over 23 years. He is also a mentor at the Seattle Entrepreneurs Club, advising on innovative blockchain projects.
Director of Business Development
Matthew Heater has a fintech background and before joining New Alchemy, he was at IBM's Watson Group. At IBM, Mr. Heater focused on working with Tier 1 banking institutions to leverage Watson Cognitive Computing. Prior to IBM, he worked in Blackstone Group's Hedge Fund unit in London, England, focusing on account management and operations. Mr. Heater started his career as an auditor at KPMG, evaluating mutual funds and hedge funds.
Mr. Heater holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington Foster School of Business and a Bachelor's degree in Business Accounting from UNLV. He has achieved the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation (CAIA).
Pavel Golyshev has over a decade of investment industry experience, spanning institutional investment consulting and asset management. Prior to joining New Alchemy Capital, he was an Associate Director at Verus Investments, specializing in investment strategy research and building portfolios for public and private pensions, endowments, and foundations. Prior to Verus, Mr. Golyshev held roles researching hedge fund, private equity, and traditional equity and fixed income strategies at Laird Norton Wealth Management, Wilshire Associates, and CTC Consulting. Mr. Golyshev has an extensive background in asset allocation, portfolio management, and trading across many traditional and alternative asset classes, including cryptocurrencies.
Mr. Golyshev earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance & Management Information Systems) from the University of Washington Foster School of Business. He is also a Level II Candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst program.
